Nigel Slater has the festivities effortlessly wrapped up in this nostalgic celebration of our most-loved Christmas dishes – past and present.
From an impressive sea bass starter to a delicious roast duck feast and a dazzling party trifle, Nigel shows us how special can be simple when it comes to feeding family and friends over Christmas.
There are humble dishes and winter warmers too – inspired by Nigel’s own memories of Christmas past. His Dad’s annual contribution – the Christmas casserole – gets a tasty makeover. And there’s a bold and bright winter slaw inspired by the Slater festive cheeseboard.
An invitation to a Venison supper in a Scottish castle completes the celebrations - and gives Nigel a great excuse to create a new cocktail to toast Christmas and New Year.
Big Bang Post Production is providing picture and grading post production and sound design on this Christmas Special which transmits on Wednesday 21st December at 7.30pm on BBC1.
