Big Bang purchased one of the first Baselight HD systems in the latter quarter of 2006 and has used it on hundreds of documentaries, natural history and drama productions. We have built up a wealth of Baselight expertise as well as adding our experiences to the products development.
All of our clients have been delighted with its speed and the fantastic results produced. As part of our policy of maintaining our systems at the latest spec, the system was upgraded in 2009 by adding GPU processing and doubling the available storage to 24TB. In 2010 the system hardware was upgraded again to take advantage of the latest Intel processor technology. This has accelerated an already fast machine, making multi layer uncompressed HD grading real-time.
We have developed totally tapeless file based workflows, from offline through conform to grading in Baselight and online in either Avid DS or FCP as appropriate.
